Erdmann & Rossi – Bentley 4 ¼ ltr. convertible (1938)

For sale is the reconstruction of this beautiful  Bentley 4 ¼ ltr. convertible with a coachwork by Erdmann & Rossi. The original car was first presented at the Berlin International Motor Show. The coachwork embodied all typical Erdmann & Rossi features: “floating” lines, elaborate metal processing, and minimum clearance.

For many years, the vehicle shown here belonged to Victor Louis, a well-known Soviet journalist and presumed spy with excellent contacts to the Russian secret service KGB. In his Datcha in Bakovka near Moscow, Louis resided like a gentleman. He owned several vintage automobiles.

At the beginning of the 1980s, the car was carefully restored in its original colour green. It burnt almost completely in 1984, when a wooden garage erected by Louis went up in flames.

One of our licensees will reconstruct this vehicle for you true to the original on a historic chassis, and with a historic engine, as a world-wide one-off. We will be pleased to assist you in the acquisition of the chassis.
